Any tips/tricks on getting it out of the forks?

Have upgraded my forks (before the bike has even been built or ridden ) but am struggling to get it out to put in my new forks.

Thanks in advance
Mike...

knocking then through the steerer can cause more problems that it fixes.

like forks that closed at the bottom (or seriously thicker walled at the bottom).

and then alloy steerers and great gouges down the inside.

  • parallel walled tube and it was a steel one.

it was a quick fix, but it worked. but as you said not hugely recommended
