Drilled for Presta rims?

I'm just starting my new-build (eventually  ) and my Easton rims are drilled for Presta vavles, which is my preference. However, there is still a fair bit of valve clearance once the innertubes are in and inflated etc.

I assume it would be better if I fit a couple of those 'valve reducer' type inserts, but if I didn't would they be ok to run as is?

  • Do you have the screw on collars on the tubes, once the tyre is inflated, and you pop one of those on the extra clearance doesn't matter
  • Sure do, BC.

Thanks, it's something that I've often wondered about, but never really had a problem with...if that makes sense?

  • +1 the big cheese

put the screw on and forget about it, if you want to put an insert on - do it.
if you dont, dont worry about it
