Change Stem on Boardman Team Carbon

Can someone please help me with a suggestion for an 80mm stem to replace the stem on the Boardman.

There is just so many options, I know I need a 31.8mm for the bars but lots talk about the steerer size :evil: :evil: :evil: Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    the steerer will be standard 1 1/8"

    As above - it uses what has now become 'standard' sizing - 1 1/8th inch steerer tube and an 'oversize' 31.8mm stem clamp.

    An 80mm stem is pretty short - what size Boardman frame are you riding? If the stem is too short, the steering becomes very 'twitchy'. :?

    why not keep the bike original and get a ritchey comp 80mm. no problems then. make sure it has a diagonal slit at the clamp like the old one, better for spreading the load on the carbon steerer.you can also get aluminium inserts. whatever you do dont crank it too tight when you replace it. 5nm is the suggestion. you dont want to crack the steerer.

    The small has quite a long reach with a 74deg ST and 54cm TT
