I've just purchased a Scott Sub 20 2010 model, The bike has been delivered with what I call fork damage. The Sub 20 is an anodised frame and the forks are showing scratches at the bottom of the forsk (outer edge) left and right as well as the to of the forks at the yoke. Discussions with the supplier has concluded in that these are 'normal' characteristics on which I am not convinced.

I would attache images If I knew how.

Does anyone else have a similar experience with this bike.

The company has agreed to change for another bike but then the question is what's a good alternative.

  • The shops pulling your pisser.
If that was how the finish was ment to be it would be the same allover not just on a few places . If you spotted this at the time of delivery and informed them then they should be getting you some replaceent forks.

They've now agreed to take the bike back. I've now decided against the same bike as this si the second one they've sent with this problem. Now looking for an alternative. Considering a Specialised Sirius Elite 2010 or a Kona Dr Dew 2009.
  • Scott sub 20 2010 comes with a brushed aluminium finish guys.I have one and these marks are distributed all over the frame.I checked the others in the store at the time I bought it and they were all the same.
    Hope this helps.

they say im a cynic but i dont believe them.

Thanks. I'm doing battle with Wheelies in the Uk . Scott have also advise that this is 'normal'. Personally I find this difficult to believe but it appears I have no choice on the matter. Once again thanks!

I had an 07 Sub 30 with 26' wheels - great bike. That doesn't look like structural damage but it's still damage, hope Wheelies do the right thing!
    Commuter: Taped-up black Trek 2200 (FCN 5)
Shiny bike: Pinarello FP2 (FCN 3)
  • Looking at your pictures the marks do look bad.......

However having had a look at a Sub 20 up close there all over the bike. It's just part of the design/finish of the bike. Its the same with the Scott Genius 60 with the same finish.

Are these marks not repeated anywhere else?
  • have had my sub 20 for a month now and it is a great bike.tried out a cannondale bad boy solo i had on order anyway but the sub is better.not to mention nearly half the price.
this bike makes me want to go cycling.
