Am I going to damage myself?

I've entered a few charity rides this spring/summer. 60 miles and 2 x 100 miles.

Previously I've only been doing the odd (2 days a week) commute to work, 12 miles each way, with the odd cycle to Box hill (40 miles) and catching the train back.

Sunday was the first dry day for ages and I did 79 miles (Greenwich to Box Hill and back).
Felt knackered afterwards and soaked in a warm bath for an hour afterwards.

Today I took the train to work and this evening I feel okay. I can feel in my legs that I did those Sunday miles but there is no specific pain.

Would I be okay to cycle to work tomorrow? 12 miles each way through London. Only 1 serious hill.

Not sure if I should stay off the bike for longer but my mate reckons I'll benefit more by getting back on the bike sooner...

Cycled in today and felt great :)

Really glad I did it. My legs felt really loose and I claimed a few scalps

You should be able to ride in even the day after a long ride.

Spin along in a lower gear than usual and you will get a useful recovery ride out of your commute.
