I want to do a sponsored MTB ride in the UK this year after doing running events for the last 2 years.

Does any one out there know of any such events other than the South Downs Way ride for BHF?

In an ideal world would like to do 50 miles or so and support an animal charity.

?????

  • Why not just set one up yourself? I've done a couple and so long as you pick on of the smaller charities they will give you plenty of help with publicity and really anything you need. The bigger charities - Wateraid for example, give lsightly less of a crap about the solo fundraiser - in my experience anyway.

The BHF run a few other events in the south, as well as the SDW one. I did the Exmoor Marathon last year for the first time, and would recommend it. Usual route length options (I did the 75mile one) and some great riding in the area. Probably going to do it again this year as well.
