Ive just replaced a broken shimano hg53 chain with a sram pc991. Shifting wise everything seems ok but the chain is layin on the chain guide imbetween the two jockey wheels, resulting in constant rubbing. I wasn't aware of this problem with the old shimano chain.
The rear cassette is 9 speed and its an xt rear derailleur.
Any pointers would be much appreciated
Thanks

Have you routed the chain correctly though the mech, and inside of the guide?0

I took a before and after picture so i could double check. There doesnt seem to be any difference.. that is apart from the chain rub!0

Can you post the pics and describe the rubbing more? Is it in all gears?0

I was wrong to be comparing the before & after pictures as they were both incorrect. Whilst carrying out a roadside repair of the broken chain yesterday i had wrongly routed the chain through the guide on the mech arm.
Ive seen my error & corrected it
Thanks very much for your quick response to my post0 -
Hehe, I thought it might have been that!0
