Which V Brakes?
I'm getting a new frame (see other posts if you want more info) and want to get some black V brakes.
The ones on the bike at the moment ar 185mm linear pull. What do I have to consider when getting a replacement pair. I can't see any reference to 185mm or linear pull on most sales sites. Anone with any recommendation or guidance?
On the new frame the brakes are mini v brakes but I suspect the brakes are particular to the brake levers but is this just between cantilever, V brakes etc or is there a difference between V brakes 185mm and mini V brakes?
Cheers.

short and long arms
short are ok for road use
long are a must for off road
I always have used Avid0 -
and do short or long matter as to which brake lever you have and what would 185mm be classed as? Long?0

normal V brakes need V-brake levers
mini Vs work with road STI and (older) cantilever levers
Avid SD5 are a good budget caliper

and SD7 levers are also good
