Recommend me a turtle neck base layer, please!

Hello,

With my christmas money I'd quite like a new base layer, and especially one that covers my neck, preferably in white (must abide by euro cyclist rules).

Was maybe thinking of one of these-

    i recomend use of a turtle neck base layer.

    I've got the 3rd one on your list. Good base layer, does it's job and doesn't cost the earth. The Vangard ones are excellent too, probably even better than the Craft as they seem to stay drier http://www.discountbicycles.co.uk/biz/product.php?xProd=3443

    I've got the Helly Hansen SLX Lifa. Nice and close fit and seems to handle moisture pretty well.

    +1 for the under armour

    Get the cold gear version and you will be toasty warm. I'm up in the Highlands now and have been out in minus 10 recently and it worked a treat.

    +1 billion gazillion quadrillion, etc - Under Armour is the way forward.

    I've been known to wear just a Coldgear base layer with a short sleeve jersey over top in the winter. It's THAT good.

    I use the Helly Hansen Hybrid, had thumb hole loops and extra long sleeves, its hybrid as its not as thick on the back and has merino front, sides are a wicking thick mesh, i cant fault it and its not smelt yet despite numerous wears.

    I have mentioned these before, Heat Tech by Uniqlo, it is the most popular thermal/base layer in Japan. It's available on line in UK for £7.99 and several shops in London.

    I can honestly recommend it, and I am wearing one at the moment.

    Englebert Humperdink swears by turtlenecks. mind you my mother in law also has a turtles neck, does that count ?

    I just thought they looked like a really good idea when I saw pics of of some pros training with turtle necks. Just seems sensible to keep the neck covered, don't understand why all winter base layers don't cover your neck to be honest...

    I've had Helly Hansens for years now - and they arent smelly. Is it new technology or something ?

    I got a rash vest from Decathlon for about a tenner - that has a long neck and tecchy. Seems fine.
