For your Christmas tree, or biking on the road?
;-)
Need more info on what your usage is. Also take a look at the CTC site for laws on lights.0 -
walked into that one, xmas spirit !!! for the road0

Many use both - the bike does need to have a fixed front and rear constant beam after dark though (and rear reflector - and believe it or not pedal reflectors!).
A flashing light in conjuction can add to safety.0 -
and the xmas tree ?0

Go to boots ;-)0

Strictly the front could also be flashing but then of course you wouldn't be able to see where you are going.

Personally I'm on the as much light as I can get so on the rear we have 3 lights. 1 on seat post constant, 1 on seat stay constant, 1 on seat post flashing.
2 on front 1 flashing and 1 Exposure Enduro .
+ 1 high viz jacket
Now watch the car driver say he didn't see me
Do skimp on the reflectors mind.0 -

I have a Hope V2 on the front and a Cateye 5 LED thing on the rear. Both lights are not used in flashing mode, though I am tempted to get another of the rear lights then I can have one on flash.0
