Hi there everybody. I would like to ask if anybody has managed to fit a set of SKS Bluemels guards to a Giant Defy as Giants own guards are not to my liking.

  • plenty people on here seem to have used full sks mudguards, but i asked in a few lbs's, 2 said no way, one said they would be fine

i ended up getting the new crud ones and they fit and work, no clarts up the back.

they are a bit of a compromise though, the bike doesn't get as much protection and can rub on the frame if not careful

an old inner tube comes in handy, stick bits wherever there could be contact with the frame

if you do fit sks, lets know how you get on

No, but I have used the Giant Defy guards on a non-Giant bike very successfully!

They are absolutely ideal for my "travel" bike which has close clearances and mudguard eyes (custom Ti). The fit around the brake area is very clever. They run close to the tyre but never catch. A couple of small holes drilled into the rear mudguard enables me to use a plastic tie to clip mudguard to the seat tube.

    Very effective "full" guards
