  • I think so. Where else can you find a bike with such a great spec at their prices?

The Ribble Sportive that you see advertised in the mags looks cool, but unfortunately in the flesh with standard spec (the £899 spec) it looks very ordinary IMO.

I got a Ribble Nero Corsa and really rate it. In truth I don't think that there's much difference between Ribble, Planet X, Focus or the cheaper end Treks, Konas etc. Deda make the Nero Corsa for lots of people for instance. P.X & Ribble bikes are certainly close. What sets them apart as companys is cusotmer service, in which P.X is more highly rated. P.X is seen by some as cooler because of a mild form counter-culture branding & an element humour perhaps. Personally that makes no difference to me or to most people I guess.

Yours must be very bland if you prefere a boring, uninteresting unimaginable colour scheme on a boring looking frame.

Personally the Ribble Grand Mondo is a serioulsy lovely looking bike and looks much 8) than anything PX have to offer. Although I'll admit the Ti frames do look pretty smart.

The problem with Ribble, is that Ribble = Boring Blue Winter Trainer. It's going to take them awhile to lose that association for me.

The Planet X Carbon frames looking shockingly awful that is granted, but I was talking about what the companies offer as a whole.

If you get on the PX newsletter mailing list they do seem to have a regular stream of cracking offers. ULtegra full carbon bike recently for £899, great if you can get it on the company Bike to Work scheme. And, at the other end of the scale, I recently bought a cracking Long Sleeved jersey with nice features like extra zzip pocket and PX symbol on the zip, race cut, good materials, etc. Under £20 with their offer. Carbon bottle cages are often good value, too.

It's like a lot of these things, a matter of personal taste!
  • Planet X don't do Campy, Ribble do. Nuff said!
  • Ha Ha
Never forget been in a race and the guy in front of me his Campy rear mech exploded and went in to his rear wheel destroyed the rear end of his bike, brand new Colnago saw him some weeks later and had to throw his Colnago away as it was wrecked (no replacable hanger) campag?

They aren't same frame, quite possibly the same factory with the same materials, but definitely a different mould.

Cadel Evans used the frame in the 2007 TdF (after Vino was DQed, Evans took a TT stage win too on it)
