Thanks again to the guy who stopped in Spooky Woods at Glentress and saved my ride on Saturday.

Hit a sharp rock and ripped my tyre wall, ride over I thought as I had no gaffer tape to fix it. Then some helpful guy stopped and ran back with a good amount of gaffer tape wrapped around his pump. He gave me some of said tape and taped an old energy gel wrapper to seal the hole on the sidewall before I replaced the tube and set off again with the tyre rock solid!

There were actually surprisingly few people offering help so it was much appreciated.

I'll carry gaffer tape in my bag now as well as cable ties as I hear they can save a long walk too.
Current steed is a '07 Carrera Banshee X
+ cheap road/commuting bike

If you can't fix it with gaffer tape, the chances are that you're just not using enough of it.
Everything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer

If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day

Well - I reckon you could fashion a splint out of the duck and some fallen branches. All the plaster cast does is hold everything in place until nature does it's work.
