I'm probably going to get flamed here for ruining the asthetics of a road bike but ..

Does anyone use a handlebar extender on their road bikes to mount their lights for night riding? This sort of setup

Just what i'm after! But read the reviews on Wiggle and it would appear it is pretty poorly built :(

I agree, even from the picture on Wiggle, the stem clamp doesn't look very robust.

there are also ones that can be attached to the bolts from the stem faceplate to the stem and stick out straight in front. Primarily designed as a computer mount so I'm not sure how much extra weight/bulk they could cope with, might be and idea if you're wanting to keep a streamlined look.

I have one, if you use a bar bag make sure the stem is long enough so the light is higher than the top of the bag. guess what ?

The Swing grip would last days with a couple of lights attached to it. Nice idea, but terrible engineering.
    More problems but still living....

I use the SG1 Space Grip as when I got my bike the light brackets were for std bars and the new bars were os. Only found this out after coming out of the pub. Now use it for the lights and camera.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
