At Evans, the 914 is only £4600.......I say only very lightly......

  • the guys at the lbs were saying that the full carbon zesty would be close to £6k!
they did say they might get one in but is a Hell of a lot of cash for a bike! especially when for that you could buy your self a 314 and a Decent Van to put it in!:lol:

but people with the money will pay it!
infact, wasnt the merida 96 somewhere up around that????

I know the guys from one of the Lapierre dealers and they don't seem to be struggling selling 914s, in fact I think they've got a waiting list!
  • at one point in the spring according to the importers there were no Medium Zesty's available in the uk! seesm they are a Very popular bike and with good reason from the reviews!!
just wish i could afford one!

Never in all my year's would I ever expect to see a price of a bike that doesn't run of petrol , diesel , sun energy , Gas or electric to be priced so much !!!

There has to be a price cap ,, because selling a bike that costs more than a 2nd hd car .is a joke

I don't think for a sec the Original owner would ever agree on the pricing , yet however I firmly suspect those within the management nowadays see themselfs as a chic sport fashion brand ..

It's all relative.....depends on how much you spend on a 2nd hand car......If, and I really mean IF it made a difference to my riding, I'd spend it, but to be honest, I doubt I'd get any more out of a £6K bike than a £2K bike, which is also a lot of money.

I put it to you this way.

I have mates who buy season tickets to that stupid pointless game they call football.

My bike will probably last me at least 3 years, I bet they pay more than £6K to watch the dumb game over 3 years (including travel, food, beer etc).....

I rest my case your honour!

    ^^

I know what you mean .
  • Erm.....

    £7,000 for a HARD-TAIL (please don't flame me rapid_uphill)

I know it's carbon, and it looks sweet, but c'mon!

Theres not even any rear suspension shocks, levers, links or bearings FFS! And just think of all that extra R&D that's been saved by the pure fact it's 'only' a hardtail.

Are the bike manufacturers actually smoking crack?

Why shouldn't it cost so much?
If people will buy it, why not sell it?
Don't forget, you can also buy a car that costs as much as a house.
I can't honestly say I would notice the difference between this bike and mine and certainly not a 4k difference but hey, maybe someone else would. Still, if I had the money lying around then I would buy one...
