Might be tricky with the cable routing - the brake cable will probably foul the gear lever and the gear cable might get in the way of the brake lever.

Hmmm, didn't sound like a crackhead question to me but I've been called worse. Anyways, some other options are using the Shimano bar end shifters that many of the touring folk use or I've also seen downtube shifter mounts that attach to the stem. The TT industry has plenty of options as you have found in your links.
