I know that they don't stay live for long as they are generally reported and removed as soon as the mods/admin come online but could a period of abstinance be brought in to stop people registering then posting spam, usually crpa about converter programs? Maybe 24 hours, if people are genuine then they wouldn't mind.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    Problem is, we're getting so many more registrations than spammers. We'll get (on average) a spammer every 2 days, roughly. Yesterday, we had 44 new member registrations. That's a lot of people to risk annoying for limited benefit.

    Fairy nuff, just a thought I had at 6:30 today.
