Its the wheels that let it down so much to be honest but there getting changed soon hopefully. I wanted the Vertex 50 RSL (Same but carbon frame) but so much more cash.

    Thanks mate,

I've not desided which wheels to go for yet..I'd love some Xtr one's or mavic slr but its all money.
  • Had my Rocky Vertex 50 since May. When I bought the bike they changed the bars for flat Easton EA70's. Now the bars didn't match the EA50 stem and seatpost, can't be having that! Changed the stem and seatpost for EA70. Found the Mavic Crossrides a bit flexy so changed the wheels for Easton XC One's. Best bike I have ever owned. Love the ride!

I must add, I did weight it with the pedals (heavy cheapy's) bottle cage and my lights on :P

I will weigh it properly next weekend when I get my SDG Ti-fly saddle and raceface next carbon seat pin.

  • Ooh ive got one of those, again mail order from Chain Reaction. :D

Still got the EA50 stem & seatpost on but I changed the bar for a Race Face AM one. Not sure I like the Crank Bros pedals but they will stay for now. No longer a Canadian made bike  but still nice :)

  • Lovely bike Lee.

How do you find those tyres for road use? I'm looking for a set myself eventually for commuting and was looking at semi-slick types.

Tyres are awesome for the road mate.

I ride to work most days and next to no drag at all.

Very grippy even in the wet!

Nice, nice and er...Nice! Nearly bought me "Rocky" around late 80's, but they weren't so well known then. I fancied the Reynolds 853 Hardtail one back then, but didn't get it.
    Still regret it today....

They keep winning the ABSA Cape and Trans Rockies, so must be pretty good bikes.

    Sounds good,

I run a 70mmm stem so should be a little lighter.
