What overshoes?

I asked my wife for some overshoes for Christmas but I have no idea which ones to go for. Can anyone reccommend some good ones for around £20, I want them to keep my feet dry and not look awful, size 9 1/2 (43-44).

    They fit nicely and seem better made than the Altura ones I got last year that started falling apart after 3 or 4 rides. (yes I did take them back and got a refund)
    I like the zip & velcro combination on the Endura ones much more than the Altura's velcro only closing method.

    and another vote - i've got them and they are pretty good for the money, seem pretty well made and I think they look pretty good to.

    After an hour and a half, in the torrential downpour the other night, they were getting damp on the inside around the toe area but kept my feet lovely and warm. I think that most of the wetness in the shoe came from the ventilation holes in the soles. (i've just got some sealskinz socks to counter that!)

    It depends what sort of shoes you are using. If like me you use SPD shoes then road overshoes like the ones recommended above will be very difficult to get on, this was my experience with my spesh spd shoes. If you have proper road shoes these should be fine. I use these gore ones which are excellent and are roomy enough for spd shoes:

    I have the Endura ones too. The wettest I've been down there so far would be wet ankles. They keep my feet dry and warm, and more importantly, my Sidis dry and clean. :lol:

    If I ever decide to rock the SPDs then I just have to man up and get wet feet. Over shoes seem a bit hard to find for MTB shoes. Shame really, I'd prefer to use the SPDs over winter as it's easier to get in.

    If you use MTB shoes then http://www.endura.co.uk/Product.aspx?de ... prod_id=26 may be of some use. I wear these and they're better than any other type I've tried - the rubber reinforcement on the toe certainly stops holes appearing if you have to walk any distance (if, say, you get a puncture miles from home and realise you've forgotten your pump... :oops: ).

    Suitable for both race and MTB shoes and are good value at moment.

    They fit well over my Shimano M122 SPD shoes, and have good zip and velcro fastening.
    Kept my feet warm and dry.
    I went for the XXL size, which are perfect fit for my size 45.

    I've got some of the Endura MT500's.
    Only had them a couple of weeks but they've performed well so far.

    The biggest problem I had with them is that because of the rubber toe grips there wasn't enough clearance between my foot and the crank arm when clipped in (SPDs), so I had to spend a bit of time with a stanley knife cutting off some of the rubber ribs on the grip to prevent the contact and squeaking that occurred.

    I squeeze a pair of these over MTB shoes and have had no problems so far. Nice and toasty. Not worn in the rain yet - amazing for Glasgow, but only had them on 4 times. (should have been rain at least twice).

    I had a pair of dbh that bust real easy from walking in them, so hopefully these will be better.

    I'm looking at the Endura Road Overshoes but I'm right between sizes (size 8/43). Would users recommend going for medium or large?

    I've had MT500s for over a year - one of the zips has broken, and the stitching is just now starting to come apart, but they've taken plenty of pounding. i'd gladly recommend them.
