I've not met him myself - so just going off tv and the magazines - he doesnt look 5'9" - but thats what he's meant to be. His bike always looks tiny.

Is there a Tom Cruise coverup going on here ?

A 52cm bike is not that small. Although he did ride a "medium" giant last year which was a bit bigger.

  • It means he has less drag. Watch Boonen sprint and he looks like a parachute.

He's also stopped racing for the year, no Paris-Tours.
  • All the best riders are that size ;)

I'm sure our european friends are happy measured in centimetres but over here in Blighty - its still very much feet and inches. For all body parts.

Lance Armstrong and Contador are both around 5 foot 9 and look much bigger than Cav.

Is this a boast or an admission of failure.
  • Just a statement really. We're supposed to be living in a time where we're all metric but I don;t know any of these things

Sorry to bring 4 wheels into a cycling forum, but I cannot fathom why we buy fuel in litres, but cars are sold with their mpg statistic.

I have never, ever heard anyone say 'Oh, my car does 8 miles to the litre'.
  • tusher that sis such a good point, i don't have a clue how much a gallon would cost but mpl sounds so wierd, cougie i also know my height in feet and inches and my weight in kgs
