i did a VO2 max test last night, and my results came out as 47.96. is this any good? i'm not sure how accurate the test is. we basically ran as far as we could for 12 minutes on a track. i managed 2650m. not bad i reckon, considering i am 32 and weigh 18 stone!

Looks like you may have done a version of the 'Balke test'. The weakness of this test is that experienced runners who know how to pace themselves correctly will score higher on the test.

I suspect the lab method is the most accurate.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.
  • anything of 45+ is a very good score for someone of your age.

your not quite at lance armstrongs level of 85 yet though.

and that test is called the cooper test or a cooper run.

    neil.
