Previous race/tour entrylists - best sites and resources?

Hey all.

I'm trying to find some good sites that have listed previous tours and one day events with regard to riders who competed? But there is a twist, if possible I would like to find a site that also has listings for riders previous events, but don't give outcome or position?

As to why I need not know the result, is because I'm trying to get hold of some older events on DVD, and I would like to save the surprise of the winners of the jerseys and stages. But at the same time, I’m trying to find the tours riders I like competed in.

I'm probably looking for something that doesn't exist, but maybe it is possible :)

cheers

    Cyclingstartlists goes back to 2004:

    http://cyclingstartlists.com/

Cyclingnews goes back a bit further, but navigating their archives is very difficult. Your best bet is probably to use Google's site search function.

Eg, to find the 1999 Vuelta startlist just use:
    1999 vuelta site:cyclingnews.com

    ...et voila: http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/results/ ... lta99.html

Quite extensive - but in French - the TdF coverage (not surprisingly) is incredibly comprehensive. To access everything you need to be a member but it does tell you the top 3 in all other races since they started, extensive palmares and complete team lists for every year since the sport began. It is a superb resource.

Thanks, this was a very useful site which I have been using. I found the root page, but as you say you need to know the start month or use the calendar:

Thanks :) I will sign up and try a translator like Babelfish and see how it goes.
