As the beast has been cancelled am doing the 25 tomorrow.

Have heard the roads used are not suitable for a road bike. i.e potholes, bridlepaths etc.

Does anyone have any comments, especially if they did it last year.

  • Road bikes are okay for it, bit rough. Won it on one this year though.

    Thanks maddmatt.

Used my winter bike - sounds good but it was my year round bike till I got my Bianchi and I wasn't going to use that.

Roads weren't too bad but the cycle path? part was a bit iffy, but well hard tyres got me through.
  • The roads were fine, but that's probably ride them all the time. The beginning and end on the cycle path was really bad, like worse than I thought. Lucky I didn't puncture frankly.
