Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a hybrid bike for fitness and evening/weekend riding, my budget is £500 - £600, I am a complete novice when it comes to bikes.

Basically I went to evans and had a chance to buy a Bianchi Camaleonte which I really liked, however I decided against it because it was £639 and a bit too expensive, now that bike is sold out in my size and I have identified another similar bianchi that is £599, what do you guys think about these bikes and also the most important question, whats the difference between the two?

£639 out of stock http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bianchi/camaleonte-3-2009-sport-bike-ec016980

£599 in stock http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bianchi/camaleonte-iii-alfine-2009-hybrid-bike-ec019250?utm_source=awin&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=awin&utm_source=awin&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=awin

The only other bike that looks good to me is the focus corrente which seems to be quite a nice spec hybrid for the price.

Any particular reason for thinking "hybrid"?

...most people here looking at your budget would suggest (something like) this:

It would be faster than a hybrid, offer you more choice of hand posiions and make it easier to cover longer distances - therefore ulimately, be more rewarding. 8)

    ...just a thought.

Looks like the £599 Alfine has hub gears, 8 speed, instead of the derailleur on the other...
It may seem there's light at the end of the tunnel, but it's actually an oncoming train.
  • Get a road bike, I got a hybrid 6 months ago (after being an avid MTB'er as a youngster), and now looking to get a road bike. I love my hybrid don't get me wrong but I just prefer the look and feel of a road bike.
    That's my 2 cents,
