Now I'm well and truly bitten by the MTB bug our lass wants to get involved too which means I'll be looking for a women's bike.
I dont want to spend loads at this stage because it could be just a fad for her (like yoga  ) so does anyone have any suggestions?

My missus has just bought this:

The blokes version has had good things said about it on here, but the ladies model is slightly different spec.
Anyone got an opinion on the womens one? Supersonic?
Hopefully it will see her right as an intro to mountain biking.

Doesnt have to be a womens bike - sometimes a blokes bike is fine. As usual its a case of testing some to which is bestMy Website - Trail Centre info for the UK: MTB Trail Time0

Thanks folks guess it's just a case of getting out to the LBS and seeing which one she likes then.0

Wish my missus would want to cycle....that would boost my cycling buddies to....three.0

Sorry more info would have been helpful:
Budget max £350 - she might pack it in after 6 months!
Hardtail
I'd like to be able to get her on the trails at Dalby so enough bike to be able to handle that0 -
I wouldn't start hitting big trails right away, let her build up to things at her own pace. That Carrera Vulcan is ideal, nice bike for the money and well within budget. It's something that'll keep even if she does faze out of cycling and ends up going out every few months.0

Definitely.
Re the vulcan - she saw it last night and said "hmmm, yeah it's okay but I want a red one" :roll:0 -

^ they do a girlie pastel blue 08. But I'd ask, as it's doubtful Halfords are going to be that unaware that people want colour choice.0
