Conago C50 or Viner Perfecta?

I dont race but need all the help I can get for fastish day rides usually on rough roads with lots of hills. I am looking for a classy frame, preferably Italian and in my shortlist includes:
Colnago C50
Viner Perfecta
Any comments on these would be welcome. Also, why do lugged carbon frames seem to be preferable (or more expensive anyway) compared with monocoque?
I am not the fastest of riders - should I "settle" for a Willier Mortirolo?
Nice choices to have, but I need advice.
