How cheap is cheap?
Cheapest 120mm forks I could find were these for £160:

Although admittedly I didnt look very hard.
I'm sure you could get some RST forks, like the ones that come standard with the Recoil for cheaper than that, but not sure who sells RST stuff.
Edit: I wouldnt personally put more than 120mm on that frame unless you know it wont snap the frame in half.0 -
well, i was looking for sum propper dh/freerider ones ( i.e. boxxers ) but for under £300. so i hav been looking at the oldr ones , like the old Marzocchi T forks from 2001.
thanks0 -
I very much doubt that bike would take seriously long travel FR/DH type forks.
It comes with 120mm as standard, depending on what the manufacturers specs say, you *might* be able to squeeze another 20mm or so out of it (unlikely). Any more than that, and the frame WILL snap.
Fact is, the Recoil is not built for Freeride or Downhill, and trying to convert it, especially trying to convert it on the cheap, is going to result in some serious pain headed your way.
My advice, save your £300, sell the recoil, save some more up, and look for a second hand Stinky or something.
Look, I'll even get you started, there is one here:

Either way, you risk killing the bike.
But if you must do this, the RS Tora is the way to go.0 -

can any1 tell me if the marzocchi junior T 2001 are wuick relase ?
any1 one any quick release forks ?0 -
They can be, but I wouldn't bother with one. Your frame is not designed for triple clamp forks or all that travel.0
-
you dont want one of them on your frame.
and the info is on Marzs site

no idea they are an old fork. and 150mm on that frame!
if you insist on 150mm forks get some SC 150mm ones as they will be stronger that some old Jr Ts"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Dude, sorry to be blunt, but this does not seem to be sinking in.
You seem to be looking for someone to come along and tell you how amazing a Triple Clamp150mm fork will be on your frame, fact is, it wont!
You will kill your bike and quite possibly hurt yourself in the process.
Doubt you will even be able to find any 2001 Junior Ts for sale anywhere now anyway. They are 8 years old, who keeps stock for 8 years?
Your bike was designed for 120mm forks, it came with 120mm forks. If you wanted 150mm forks, why did you not buy a bike with 150mm forks, you have apparently had 12 bikes so far this year. I have even been good enough to find you a bike that comes with long travel triple clamp forks.
If you are so desperate to have long travel forks, just sell your current bike and buy that Kona I linked for you earlier. After buying 12 bikes in 8 months, surely 1 more wont make any difference. You are far less likely to snap that in half and faceplant too!0 -
Sorry for the thread-jack, but is there any rule for determining the longest-travel fork that a given frame can take?
Cheers,

Yes, the warranty information. If unsure, contact the dealer.0

Ah, sorry. I thought it might be something you had to calculate from the geomoetry figures or something...0
