lights for transwales time trial?

i never night ride so last year i used 240 lumen lights one on helmet other on bar .this year thinking do i do the same or

a. 240 helmet light and exposure maxx race (480 lumens) or enduro (720 lumens)on bar
b. just go for the maxx daddy 960 lumens on bar alone .

is a helmet light essential with such a bright light?

Helmet light is always useful - sometimes you arent looking where the bike is going.

Personally I go for a P7 torch on the bars and a Fenix on my helmet. Perfect.

i use a hope vision4 led. on bars.. 1000 lumens.
and a fenix tk11 torch, don't underestamate these new p7 leds they pretty dam good.

you would get away with running a few fenix torches on helmet and bars. they alot cheaper than bike specific lights, and every bit as good...
