Maybe look at second hand too??

Or could you do cycle to work scheme? Then get up to £1000 over a year minus tax and vat.

If not could you stretch to this:

Components look great for the price.

Gets very good reviews, I have a focus cayo and Wiggle were great with buying it. They ask you for a whole bunch of measurements and mine was set up perfectly. I dont know if they still do it but they used to have this arrangement where you could ride it for a week and if you didn't like it they would come and take it back, you just had to promise to keep the (enormous!) box it came in in case.

Stuggling second hand to find something in my size.

That looks nice but my original budget was £450, Its stretching it to go to £500 but £600 is a step too far, Thanks for the suggestions tho.

There's a Decathlon b'twin road bike for £499 which doesn't look too bad at all - if you don't mind buying from a chain.
    Cannondale Supersix / CAAD9 / Boardman 9.0 / Benotto 3000

I just checked and the Decathlon one is the b'Twin Sport 2 - you get Sora, carbon forks and (amazingly for a 500 squids bike) carbon seat stays.
