Good deed corner

At work yesterday i was on my round (im a posty) and came to one house, popped the letters through the letter box and heard a little voice shout 'hello'
I was gonna carry on walking because it was raining, i was cold and i wanted to get done and get back home but i decided not to
turned out some old dear had had a fall and couldnt get up so i tried the door but it was locked so had to run around all the neighbours until i found one who had a key, we went in made sure she was ok, picked her up and noticed she had a cut on the back of her head so being the good samaritan i rang an ambulance aswel,
What a hero i thought haha!
Any one else wanna boast about an un-noticed good deed they've done?

Tis better to regret something you've done than to regret not doing something!

i flushed the toilet after a dump , saved many lives there
at work today this kid kept coming back to me with a nose bleed that got worse every time,
i could of easily told him to go home but i sat with him for 20mins each time until it stopped, in total 3 possible lunch brakes wasted and 2 normal brakes wasted, never got my lunch in the end0 -
I told this c**t in the office space beside us that he's a c**t, therefore saving everyone else in the building the effort of having to do it, and the mental anguish caused by trying to resist. I think that's a tick in the "good" column of Santa's list.Uncompromising extremist0

my wife n i stopped on the m11 to check if the driver of a car which was pointing up the embankment was ok.
we drove past, thought something was strange so left at the next exit, drove back to the previous and got back to the car, it took us bout 20 mins to get back and during this time, there must have been a couple of hundred cars gone past and not a single person, including the people who caused/saw the crash.
we got there and the front of the car was smashed in and the driver was unconcious across the front seats. luckily im pretty well medically trained and the wife is a nurse so we checked her out and dealt with her as she woke up and started fitting. when the ambulance and police turne up i helped to get her into the stretcher and ambulance.
we got a call later that evening to explain someone had pulled out on her as she overtook in the fast lane, she instinctivel swerved to avoid a collison but hit the central reservation and then carrered across all lanes to end up pointing up the embankment.
she had smashed her head on the drivers window and was in clip order.
felt good to do some good0 -
Fixed an ms sufferers borked windows machine and stuck appropriate software on it free of charge because she was reliant on it for her ms groups activities and leisure. The group has little to no funding from any official source and it was an eye opener just how disabled groups trying to live normal lives and socialise on a weekly basis struggle for paper and pens in this country nevermind some sort of qualified team leader to create, execute, organise meaningful group activity.0

I gave away my old Scott Boulder 2001 to a mate who had the shittiest mtb ever. It had nearly a full LX groupset (upgraded by myself) and a Rock Shox Psylo XC fork. Yeah it was old but it still holds up well. Also changed the brake pads with brand new ones too.
All for nothing.0 -

@sheepsteeth & MarkEo- doesnt get much better than potentially saving a life.
- did some first aid to a kid who came off his bike the other day
- caught a crim and turned him into the police
- spoke some sense into an abusive mob of about 80 people having a go at the bus driver for the bus breaking down to give him time to escape.
- saved a bus driver from being kicked in one night by a drunk idiot.
- saved a girl from being raped.
All it is, is being in the right place at the right time and taking a couple of minutes out of your life... and being able to perform an accurate risk analysis.
But then theres nothing quite like the feeling when the girl you saved somehow manages to find you weeks afterwards to thank you...0 -
