i have a carrera banshee x and have not been bitten by the bug and speding rediculous amounts of money towards it

today i went out with the intention to get a new stem but i then saw an atomlab stem and handlebar combo for £49.99 reduced from £120 i had to buy it.

here is my steed as she stands now

image210w.jpg

image212i.jpg

all i have left to buy is -
lock on grips
maxxis high roller tyres
decent pedals
a nice seat with red on it

if possible a halo 26'' wheelset

The ETA's WERE the better ones. it's the ATA and ATA2s that kep tblowing seals.

    the ones with lock out?

ETA had a kind of "lock down", ATAs had a more normal "lock-out".
But it's the air spring that caused the most serious problems.

So what model are they then? ETA or ATA?
If they're coil sprung, they must be ETA, there's a switch that keeps them compressed for climbing?

no switch , 1 side is air 1 is coil

    right, so 2008 55s...

    ATA
    ATA 2
    ETA
    TST2

All unreliable pieces of crap in their own right, but the air psrung ATA and ATA2 most notoriously.
However, it seems yours might be the cheapest "TST2" - which, ironically, is the most reliable! Lucky you.
Having a coil psring from a Fox vanilla isn;t going to do a damn bit of difference though.

Anyway, what was the topic again?

I doubt marzocchi would have sent them to tf tuned, as they don't do any work on 55 forks, as stated on their website, windwave is the usual company who deals with 55 issues, being the distributer for 'zocchi in the UK.

I have some and they've already broke once and probably will again, unless they fitted the 09 internals which seem to have "less" problems.

Good deal on bar and stem combo too, nowt wrong with running 25.4 bars, plenty strong enough, not sure if i'd fancy that much of a rise but certainly a good deal for the pair.
