Slight clicking on occasion from SPD pedals

Hello all,

been doing some serious miles recently, and have started using the pull and push technique, as opposed to just pushing, which has yielded phenomenal results - well for me anyway!

The only annoyance being a clicking that must be coming from the pedals, and I am wondering if it is just a case of trying to wind the tension in, or if it means they or the cleats are too worn?

Many thanks

Probably the pedal itself - my brand new XT pedals did this last week.

Unscrew the spindles, take it out, cover in good quality grease, replace and it will probably go. Unlikely the actually cleats/interface would click.

Could also be that the bottom bracket needs lubricating.

BB problems usually result in more of a creak than a click (I find).

    Thanks chaps,

will give that a go, fairly sure it is not the bb, but I have a new HTII one ready to fit at any rate.

    Cheers

I had this, thought it was the pedals then thought it was the BB. In the end it turned out to be the rear hub which needed a clean and lube. Took me a while to work that one out...
