Making a custom 9-speed campag cassette
I have just replaced a worn 9 speed campag cassette with a new one that I had lying around. Unfortunately the biggest sprocket is 23T rather than the 26T that I am used to. I think it might be the end of me.
Can I buy a new 26T sprocket and pull out, for example, the 16T from the middle?
I can't imagine that it wouldn't work but would all the shifting still be good? I remember reading that Shimano cassettes have different versions of each size sprocket depending on the size of the neighbouring sprockets - are campag cassettes like this too?
Thanks,
Dinosaur

All sprockets in a cassette are optimised such that teeth profiles / ramps are postioned for easier shifting - you could replace one sprocket but you may find your shift a bit roughMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Thanks. Yeah, that's what I was kind of expecting. If a single sprocket is much cheaper than a new cassette then I might give it a go anyway to see how well it works.0
