How good is the specialized 09 ht stumpjumper comp guys?

Evening all, this is my first post so please go steady with me.
i have been away from mountain biking for around 12 to 13 years due to family/business commitments, i feel @ the age of 44 it is time to get back into the saddle & get that adrelin rush back again
i am after your advice/expert knowledge on two bikes i have recently viewed, these being the hardtail stumpjumper comp & the rockhopper pro both by specilaized.

Great brand, wish I started riding 13 years ago and had a Specialized Stumpjumper.
