Recommend me a book on (Sussex) wildlife, please

I am always out and about the lanes around the South Downs and would like a guide to the local wildlife as I'm not always sure what I'm looking at out there ( in an " is it a Wagtail or a Plover" sort of way, the same with Weasels and Stoats - cue that old joke) It's a nice thing to do while sitting having a breather after a long climb (walk) up the Beacon.

    I have that book, orderodonata, and it shows you where to go in Sussex to see wildlife in places such as reserves, wetland centres and sanctuaries. Thanks for the suggestion though, it was appreciated. What I am looking for though is something to use out on a ride when I happen to spot something and I can't identify it.

    There are lots of kinds of wildlife.

    For instance you might spot mushrooms on the ground or on trees, wild flowers, many varieties of trees, insects, mammals, birds, etc.

    Bearing in mind that there are relatively few species of mammals in this country so a specific book is probably overkill.
