Campagnolo vs Shimano

My local bike shop has two idenical frames but have differt gear on.

Bike A has:Fork: Bianchi FLN Carbon/Al 11/8"
Cranks: Campagnolo VELOCE ULTRA-TORQUE 53/39
Pedals: NO
Front Derailleur: Campagnolo VELOCE
Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo VELOCE
Shifters: Campagnolo VELOCE
Cassette: Campagnolo VELOCE 12/25
Chain: Kmc DX10SC
Wheels: Campagnolo KHAMSIN black
Tyres: Continental ULTRA SPORT 23x622
Brakes: Campagnolo VELOCE
Brake Levers: Included
Handlebar: Dedaelementi SFIDA carbon covered
Headset: Fsa ZS4-CUSTOM
Stem: RC DA-42FCF 3D forged aluminium covered carbon fiber


And Bike B has:
Fork: T700 Carbon Composite w/Aluminium Steerer
Cranks: Shimano R600, 34/50T
Bottom Bracket: Shimano External
Pedals: Shimano PD-M505
Front Derailleur: Shimano 770
Rear Derailleur: Shimano Ultegra
Shifters: Shimano 770 Rapidfire Plus, 20-Speed
Cassette: Shimano 105, 12-25T
Chain: Shimano 105
Hubs: Giant IOU 333
Rims: Giant IOU 333
Tyres: Michelin Pro Race 2, 700x25mm
Brakes: Dual-Pivot, Long Reach
Brake Levers: Avid SD7


I'd be using it for training mostly and it would have to quite some punishment.

    Bike B is a flat bar road bike, no? So which kind of bars do you like? It takes a while to get used to road drop bars, but I find them more comfortable for long distances because you can change hand positions.

    The Shimano bike is a flat bar setup, by the looks of it, so you're not really comparing like with like. And SD7 levers and dual pivots are a questionable choice.

    The wheels on the Campag bike look better. Not much in it elsewhere.

    thanks for the messages, does any one know about the quality of the modern Campagnolo gear, are they still No.1

    I own an Olmo - 1978 and the campag gear on that is beautiful. I don't know about the modern stuff but the Shimano gear seam to be a real competitor.

    As far as gear goes, whats best???

    haha, handle bars can be charged but I still need to know which is better, campagnolo or shimano

    The only way you are going to know is to ride both, then see which you like the best. Performance probably isn't going to be hugely different - okay Veloce is the 4th group in the Campag stable, whereas Ultegra is supposedly second behind DA, so the Campy stuff might be a little heavier, but as I have found, it mainly comes down to personal preference.

    For the record, I ride Record :D
