I think it looks lovely and I'm slim enough not to worry about the horizontal stripes, but...
I'm clearly not an Italian or national champ material (and my bike has a Shimano drivetrain)[/url]

I personally would struggle wearing any 'champion' or 'Leaders' jersey without having earned it. However, there is no logic to that as I would happily wear a team jersey.
If you are gong to feel comfortable wearing it, do. It is a lovely top (It is also retro so you get away with it a bit. It's not like you are wearing the current national champs top.)0 -
People may think you are italian. :shock:0
-
Love the fact that the extra large is only 42" chest... lol.... so italian... lol
... yeah I think the biggest issue is that you'll look italian... you'll have to ride like a lunatic !... lol...
... bottom line, if you like it ... wear it... hate all this style police crap0 -
If it floats your boat, buy it. Shame you don't have Campag, however, we all have our crosses to bear!0

I think it's nice. If you were riding an italian bike with campag and wore it, then I'd think you were a posing cnt.0

I think it looks pretty good. I've just ordered the ' Peace Race Jersey from the same people.
Not to be opened till my birthday in July .0 -
Nice & retro...
...but it does look a little like "mummy knitted it" IMHO
Personally, I'd choose the Peace Race one myself...
...but that's just my opinion.Cycling weakly0 -
I have the same design in merino wool from vintagevelos.com
It looks great, however I have attracted anti-Italian comments from motorised chavs.0 -
Do you like it???????
Obviously you do.
You're a cyclist in the GB, most people have no idea what the jersey signifies.
Dip your bread, ride and enjoy. If anyone cocks their nose does it matter? NO!!!Tail end Charlie

Yes; It's a terrible jersey!0 -
the question that really needs asking is:

I think not

1 roadie is ok

2 roadies side by side equal fair game
I've taken 2 out this week with no reply :shock:0 -
jstock,
Clearly you can do without the jersey and still are an "a***", apparently.
thebongolian,
I like the blue jersey at the top of the page - the other is a bit too, Italian....Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0 -
I wore my peace race jersey that came last week for the first time on saturday. Fairly good quality, despite the small sizing a large fit me ok although the arms were a little loose (which surprised me somewhat!) and the elastic gripper on the bottom is like some cheap knicker elastic which didn't grip particularly well. The stitching of the panels for the Colomba logo can be felt but it didn't irritate my on a 2.5hr ride.
The cut is very relaxed, more suited for those bimbling days and coffee runs. (I don't do the latter).
I like the look of it and I am a fan of sportwool but I would suggest it is more of a fashion accessory than a technical jersey. I am also more of a fan of more understated clothing (I wear a lot of black) and almost went for the navy jersey but fancied a change...0 -
I love the way people jump all over this to knock lycra.
Look at the product first. There is no lycra involved.
Says more about presumption and predudice :evil:None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0
