Mountain High bike shop in Pangbourne do a ride out every saturday morning about 9.00 am.

Very handy for learning routes around Whitchurch/Woodcote area.

    Otherwise there's Swinley in Bracknell.

The rough ride guide for the chilterns(and the expansion pack) has lots of local routes in the area between Reading Oxford and Milton Keynes. Well worth the price if you want to get the best out of local.

Swinley (The Look Out) is probably the best/closest

Surrey Hills (near Guildford/Dorking) I think is the best in the South East - I'm biased as its on my doorstep though ;)

Both of which can be a little difficult to navigate without someone showing you the ropes but I'm sure you'll find friendly people to show you around on here though :)

Get an OS map and head north from Reading towards Pangbourne, Whitchurch, Woodcote, Checkendon, ect.

This is a good introduction to the area.
