I believe so. Although you can still buy Juicys too.
Did consider some of the Hope XC brakes, but I have the avid/sram matchmakers so they both bolt to the same mount on the bar.
The Juicy 5s seem pretty good to me - only ride XC, and there isnt much of a benefit to the Elixirs yet - but when I get some more money spare I may well buy them, the 5s would then go on the wife's bike and sell her 3s.0 -

How do yo find the carbon bars? I would like to get these, but slightly afraid of snappage in trail use (or more aggressive XC)0 -
Havent had any problems - although I am a little worried after my stack last month - keep hearing creaks that arent really there etc :oops:0

How are you finding the Thomson stem? I'm thinking of upgrading to a 90mm on my Lobster and Thomson is top of the list at the mo (replacing the 70mm RF Deus XC). Only thing putting me off is it's more expensive and heavier than the one it's replacing! Quality looking piece of kit though, and it'll match my seatpost. Plus i'll lose a few extra g's with some nice carbon bars to balance it out (just justifying it to myself now

Have had no problems at all with it.
I did spot in a mag this week a review of a Nuke Proof stem very similar to the Thomson for slightly less £££0 -
Is it a lovely looking piece like the seatpost? i was serioiusly impressed when i opened that and saw the quality.0

Stem is indeed as lovely as the seat post! I know its good as my wife even commented on it looking good - she doesnt usually get why some parts cost more than others!
As for the photos they are from Friston Forest and the chalky ones are the seven sisters beach0 -
Thomson Elite stems are the dogs nads.
I have a straight one on my Stumpy HT and it's awesome - SO well made!
I do like your Stumpy a lot GC.
Considering Formula (K24s) brakes for mine. The Juicys are fine but a right pain to replace pads for and generally look after.0 -
Have had no probs with pads
Have bled them, changed pads etc - all been easy work - what have you struggled with re pads?0 -
gc - just replacing them. Always seems to be a right pain - they never slot in easily then rub for quite a few miles . Find bleeding them okay but they seem to slightly rub (not enough to slow the wheel) all too often, even when I adjust them correctly.
They work well but they could be a lot easier to maintain - and my LBS agrees.
XT and Formulas appear to be a lot easier to look after.0 -
They are the only disc brakes I know - wife has Juicy 3s on her bike - so cant compare to others.
They seem much easier to set up than the vbrakes i was used to on my old bike!
Let me know how you get on with Formulas etc though...

I may be sticking my Spec Fast Trak LKs back on the bike for road duties - or even some semi-slicks.
Can't ride off road at the mo due to my neck problems, so bike isnt getting used anywhere near as much as it should be
and using a recumbant bike at the gym is just boring (although I do get to watch TV at the same time!)
Any recommendations on light semi slicks?0 -

awesome bike you have.although i have an s works carbon hardtail bike(i p/xed fsr comp frame for it.)i still have most of the components from the stumpy fsr comp!!!so is still quite heavy(relatively speaking!!!).when i have some finances,will upgrade the stuff on it,starting with some new hope pro 3/stans no tube rims wheels!!!they look awesome wheels for £385 a pair!!!ps have decided to keep my s works in the end!!!take it easy!!! 0
