Just added some protein to my diet...

Went on a quick 11 mile ride tonight. Just bimbling really to film one of the cycle routes and do some route research. Throat got really dry and I realised I should have packed a drink when what looked like a wasp flew down my neck. Couldnt spit him out so had to try hard to swallow.

Urgghhh!!

Can still feel it now, scratching down my throat. :oops:

Have to say I was on some 40mph roads and all drivers except one were courteous and careful in their overtake. Well I guess if you must be 1 in a hundred thats the easy way to do it. :wink:

On the plus side averaged 11mph, max 30.8mph and 56 minutes. Not bad for me I think. :)

    I had a large fly enter my mouth yesterday. It was walking around on my tongue before I spat it out. That's a very strange feeling.

    Thats nothing, I once had a fly go into my mouth and not stop, god knows where it went but it went down my throat. :lol:

    Actually had one a lot earlier and managed to spit it out, but I was too dry by this point. :lol:

    I always zip my jersey up on a descent, no matter how blo0dy warm it is. Not nice having a wasp or bee down there...

    Didnt wear the jersey tonight.. only have two actually as I usually use a running top. But tonight I just wore a cotton T and a hiviz bib. Couldnt be bothered with making two shirts dirty (and it was only an hour) :lol:

    Just got a Homer Simpson "Doh!" Foska jersey off my Bro on wednesday. 32 and that was me pressie, haha!

    I have had a winged something or other fly in through one of the vents in my helmet. Sat up and removed it in one movement then started swinging it around by the straps while riding along :lol: . Must have looked a right Muppet.

    Just measured my speed again on my commute. It seems that on straight and long hills I can do up to 20mph with no headwind (there was no wind here at all this morning), but on the windy and twisty hills I struggle getting over 10.

    That cateye strada is proving most interesting since I bought it a week ago. Prolly not that acurate but gives me a general idea. :)

    I wished I'd swallowed a horse fly once - instead of it biting my twice on my inner thigh while I was cranking it up for the finish at the BTCCs one year.

    The b*stard drew blood - the whole area swelled up for a week then the wound went hard. I still have a scar now.

    If you see a horse fly - scarper quick!

    Possibly infected. My father had the same happen to his index finger years back and he couldnt use or bend it for a week.

    They're nasty little beasties. I think I had some macro photos of one somewhere...

    I once got a fly up my nose out mountain biking.
    It didn't die for a while, and I could feel it wriggling around but couldn't get it out.
    I never saw it again, so I guess I swallowed it eventually.

    I kept imagining a nightmare scenario whereby it had laid eggs, and I was going to have maggots coming out of my head... :shock:

    We also get giant, blue/purple beetles which ping off your helmet. We also get hairy caterpillars - one walked across my neck at the weekend and left me with a very itchy rash for 2 days - b@astard wildlife; it's a wonder anyone lives past the age of 6 in Hong Kong...
