Hi
i just taken delivery of my Marin rocky ridge 09 and confused about the forks.
I was expecting Fox vanilla 32 r coil units but i noticed when i was out on my first ride that it has Fox float 32 r air units, am i being stupid as im not to hot on my fox products are vanilla and floats the same thing? or have i recieved the wrong forks, some help would be appreciated. [/img]

Vanilla is the coil model, Float is the air (and more expensive).0

well the air float is about £100 more than the coil.
bike makers can change the spec of their bikes at any time."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Stick with the air forks, play with the rebound and enjoy. Those have rebound right?0

Yep got rebound adjustment0

I have the float RL, I don't know the difference between those and the R's but I think they are great for OEM forks.0

Some people prefer the feel of coil. If you don't, stick with the float.0

I too recently bought an 09 RR and got Floats not Vanillas!
I've had 2003 Vanilla Rs, 2008 Vanilla RLCs, 2008 Talas RLCs and 2009 Float Rs.
The Floats on the Marin are the best I've had, supple from new and dead easy to set up!
Don't complain, be happy!0
