I have bee getting alot of back ache recently while out riding and was thinking of putting a shorter stem on. Changing from 100mm to 90mm so i am not so streched, even though i dont feel streched at the moment, but i thought a shorter stem may help as i'll be a little more upright. Does anyone think i'll be doing the right thing or just wasting money?

Likewise, moving saddle forwards wouldn't really work as it'll shift his weight forward causing imbalance and placing more strain on his upper torso instead, been there done that.

Going 110mm to 70mm with a layback seatpost was the best thing id done and would explain why i've had a few comedy off's, shame i only had a couple of rides to try the new geometry before the frame decided to break on me.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

i dropped down from a 110 to an 80 and feels much more positive a position to ride in, a lot less strain on the shoulders too!
