can i use a shimano slx rear mech with a sram x9 shifter

    Sram rear mech with Sram shifter or shimano with shimano.

    The rear mechs and shifters work with different amounts of cable pull which is why they are incompatible.

    With the front mech you can mix as cable pull is the same.
