RC405 frame delivery damage... advice please

Taken delivery of Pace RC405 frame from Chain Reaction, packaging is fine and the frame was protected well, however when it was unwrapped I found the two following problems, should I return the frame or are these problems workaroundable ?

    When I got mine (delivered to local bike shop) it had to go back with a damaged headtube from transit. Thing is the shop had already sending back 2 others for the customer before me (I saw one of them too). When mine arrived it had a alight headtube damage too, well, I was looking for it like hell. Anyway... 1, it was fine really, 2, they knocked some money off ...BUT... none of them were damaged as badly as your pics! I was told at the time that the packaging had been reviewed by Pace to stop headtube damage so I'd hope it wouldn't happen anymore.

    is that a crack in the weld or just a bad paint job? if the weld is cracked then send it back immediately and dont ride it at all.

    It does look cosmetic. Contact CRC with the pictures and see what they say. They should just replace it for you. Some shops may also offer you the option of keeping it but with a sizeable refund if you are willing to accept the frame with slight damage.

    I'd refuse to accept it, especially with what appears to be a cracked weld.

    Send it back and don't take no for an answer.

    that is pretty bad. was it sent in original unopened packaging?
    If so, then CRC will def take it back. That'll be a manufacturing fault and def under warranty.

    I'd never accept something like that!

    can't tell on the first photo if the weld is cracked or bad paint job but second photo looks like head tube has a chunk missing from it? If this is the case under no circumstances accept that product, in fact I would imagine you shouldn't have much problem replacing it as that is so clearly a fault. If the frame is under warranty which it will be the burden of proof is with the manufacturer to prove the fault isn't down to them if the product is over 6 months old then its down to you to prove its a warranty issue. I know this as I had a recent issue with a frame that was 12months old and i investigated my consumer rights.

    Hi,

    I sent it back and it was up on CRC's website for around £600 as shop soiled. I eventually rode a RC405 & Yeti 575 back to back at Leisure lakes just to be sure about my purchase.

    I ended up with a Yeti.
