If I replace an 8-speed 11-28 cassette with an 11-32 or 11-34 cassette will my Shimano STX RC 8-speed trigger shifters still work okay? I am using a long-cage Sram rear mech. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks- Tony

as the STX RC is * spd it will work with any 8spd shimano/sram cassette, fitting a cassette with a bigger big cog will require a longer chain.

this is presuming that the sram rear mech is one of the old 2:1 ratio ones (ie. it works now and is not a new one).

Thanks - the Sram rear mech is an early/mid 90's model - no identification apparent, but it seemed to work fine with the old set-up, notwithstanding worn and damaged teeth etc. hence the need for new cassette and chain rings. I will, of course fit a new chain.
