You would want something like a RS Domain/Lyrik.. budget may be an problem though!
BUT just read you post, they will be far too much travel for your bike, and will screw up the ride, void your waranty and possibly break your neck.
You need to change your bike if you want to do anything gnarly!0 -
well its an XC bike. 100mm fork max, otherwise you'll ruin the geometry, handling and riding position. (fairly sure its only warranted for 100mm).
you'll need a new bike for FR/DH.0 -

I was writing more.... but igured I'd try and get that in 1st... you still beat me though
btw, if you still want to upgrade the dart... look for rockshox tora, recon or rebas.0 -
so what are the best 100mm travel forks0

rebas would be best, but if you want to start hitting stuff harder then the toras are worth a look as they're made mostly out of steel so are fairly strong for what is technically a trails fork.0

For DH, society forks are okay, they are stupidly heavy so would be rubbish at XC. I'd go for Tora's.jedster wrote:Just off to contemplate my own mortality and inevitable descent into decrepedness.
FCN 8 off road because I'm too old to go racing around.0 -
thanks for the advice guys, like the look of the toras could i fit them myself, or have to take them to a shop to fit for me??0

Should be ok to fit yourself. look at http://www.parktool.com/ for a guide.
you'll need to cut the steerer and fit a star nut.
If your not confident, it shouldn't cost too much at your LBS.0 -
If you're progressing towards downhill more, then consider the
Rock Shox Argyle 318 2009, not too heavy also.0 -
my LBS offer to fit the forks for free if you buy them there, ask them you might be suprised
