Hi guys,
What colour Rockhopper do you like best? Black or Silver?

Are there any practical reasons you would choose one over the other? I imagine that (if like black cars) black will show up more chips etc but have read that Silver is harder to keep clean.

Been unable to get a look at the Silver ones but have seen the black ones so relying on the online MTB community to help me choose.

It seems to me that the silver looks better on shops webpages but when you see photos of the 2 colours on ebay the black looks better. So still don't know what to go for yet!!

Don't get me wrong I want a nice looking bike but would rather have a colour that is more practical if indeed one is more practical than the other.

Which one would you go for and why?

Cheers

Silver everytime for me. Not a huge fan of black bikes, no real reasons, just personal pref.

    LOL

    :D

So theres no practical difference then!

Haven't had a bike since I was a kid so was thinking along car lines in that black shows up all the scratches etc.

Don't want new bike paintwork looking wrecked after a few outings but this is not the case is it?

Just wish I could see a silver one in the flesh cause I could make my mind up easy then.

Silver for me. Black shows every little mark and stone chip like a sore thumb. I ve a 09 Rockhopper in silver for XC/commute. also got a black EX8 for trail riding. Love the EX8 to bits but would never have another black bike again. Silver is much more hard wearing.

what is your fav colour? not just between silver and black.

the reason i asked is that later on in the future you might want to buy parts to upgrade your bike and you might choose your fav colour for the colour scheme (e.g. red pedals or red fork).in this case because silver and red doesn't match as well as black and red, you better off getting a black bike.

Hell yeah. Would much prefer it were black or white, but I guess Specialized must have special colour-blind chimpanzees painting their thousand-pound bikes ;)
