Conti tyres

Been looking at getting some new tyres and had a look at the conti attack/force combo.
But from what I've heard they are not particularly hard wearing. Could you get away with using GP4000's with different widths to get the same effect of the front tyre cutting through the air as is claimed with the attack/force thing.
They do the GP4000 in 20 and 23 width. The attack/force are 22 and 24.

Can we fix it?

    You can, but 20mm tyres are a bit harsh riding, don't offer the same amount of grip and are prone to snakebite punctures. If the attack/force tyres are available seperately then why not get the 22mm front and use a GP4000 rear as wear is not really that great on the front tyre, though I can't see 1mm making a noticable aero difference unless you are in the running for the 25 mile TT championship.
