Edinburgh route advice please

A group of 8 of us will be passing through Edinburgh on a LEJOG leg thurs 7th may. We'll be coming in on the A702 and want to get to the bridge as quickly and safely as poss. Can any locals give advice or better still, guide us through on the day. We'll be on a huge day from Langholm to Braemar so any time saved would be useful. We are raising money for charity.

Two options, both the same distance. Option 1 is busier but easier to follow. Option 2 follows cycle paths

I imagine we will be through around mid morning 10-11 ish. We may stick to route 1 as it's esier to follow?
