What is the recommend approach to box hill?

West to East or East to West??

    west to east so up zig zag road it's not a road you can zip down normally, speed bumps and traffic.

    Hmm i think i'd be too embarrassed. Would most likely be over 10 minutes LOL

    Riding from Colindale to Richmond then on to Surrey and back again would maybe not too good an idea.

    To save my legs (and blushes) would probably have to get train to Richmond then aim for surrey from there.

    It's not a particularly difficult climb compared to some of the other North Downs hills, but it is a great climb in terms of scenery and you are almost guaranteed to meet other cyclists.

    The road surface after the climb & village at the top is like something out of Paris-Roubaix though. :roll:
